In May, the GuardIAS team will visit three Italian marinas within the Liguria and Tuscany regions:
- May 9: Assonautica Savona, Savona
- May 16: Club Nautico Versilia, Viareggio
- May 23: Consorzio Nautica da Diporto, Rapallo
How does the event take place?
After a brief presentation on marine bioinvasion issues, with a focus on the role of recreational boating in spreading alien species, the participants will be involved in a rapid assessment survey in the ports, identifying fouling species. At the end, a passive sampling collector will be donated to interested boaters, involving them in a long-term collection of data by sharing monthly pictures of the fouling species colonizing a PVC panel.
